Geranium Rose essential oil
with Rose petals

Geranium rose, pelargonium graveolens, essential
oil is a wonderful oil, distilled from the leaves and flowers of the plant. Throughout the centuries, it has been used for
skin care and is loved for it's beautiful scent. In aromatherapy, it is used to balance both the mind and body, normalising
dry and greasy skin.
Added to a hot bath, it is deeply relaxing with a heady, floral, aroma. Making it
easy to picture a sunny garden brimming with roses. I have added rose petals, as they are reputed to be wonderful for wrinkles.
I can guarantee, you will love this soap.

Wild Honeysuckle grows in the forest that backs onto the
beach, here at Wells. The stems wind themselves around the branches of the trees, so that the plant can climb many metres
high, hoping to attract moths to pollinate its beautiful flowers. Honeysuckle has always been associated with love, maybe
due to its sweet, night fragrance.
It has a long history as a medicinal plant. The crushed leaves were used to treat skin
infections, as they are mildly antiseptic.
In this soap, I use pure honeysuckle absolute, taken from the actual plant and not a single
gram of chemical scent. It is one of my favourites.

From the earliest times roses have been used gastronomically,
cosmetically and medically. Named ‘Queen of the Flowers’ by the Greek
poetess Sappho in 600 BC, the beautiful deep crimson colours led the ancients to believe that they sprang from the blood of
Adonis.
Traditionally
associated with love and life, rose petals and garlands were used to decorate tables and float in wine.
In aromatherapy,
it is used for stress, depression, headaches and insomnia. It is said to be excellent
for the skin, particularly wrinkles and dryness.
I think we all know instinctively that the scent is heavenly and can give us pleasure and contentment.

Rosmarinus, literally means " dew of the sea
" it is a coastal loving plant and grows well, here in North Norfolk. If you crush some on a sunny day, the strongly
aromatic oil conjures up thoughts of basking in the sun.
Rosemary has always been a valued plant, it's woody, green scent used to drive away infections.
I've combined it with lavender in this soap, another coastal loving plant. Fresh. clean and invigorating.

Our
front garden is covered in winter by flowering jasmine. As you walk through the
gate, its exotic, romantic scent can stop you in your tracks.
To make
this bar, I have used real jasmine absolute. A single kilogram of oil is extracted
from millions of flowers hence the reason why jasmine oil is so expensive. I
never use chemical perfume. This soap (like all our soaps) is made with real
jasmine.
In aromatherapy,
jasmine is understandably used to lift the spirits and leave you feeling mellow. A
very exotic treat.
